Playgroup numbers increase at West Brewarrina

For our Family Worker, Dale Duke, our West Brewarrina aka ‘Dodge Reserve’ supported playgroups have been a huge success and highlight of her work.  Attendance at the West Brewarrina playgroup was at an all-time low.   It had been a struggle to break into and engage with the community but Dale’s persistence saw the supported playgroup numbers increase from zero to a regular attendance of 10 to 15 children and mums per session.

Good News Story from Therapy Support Walgett

The good news story is about a little 5 year old boy named Xander who has Hydrocephalus which means there is an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. This year Xander had a fantastic milestone of starting Kindergarten. As you can see by the picture below Xander is in a standard pram as for the last 2 years his family has struggled in getting the help and assistance Xander has needed to help him attend school.
